Ive added some MP3 files to some identifiers ive already made. JUMPKIBERA, JUMPKWACHA but the files are only in the file section and are not being read as audio files. The problem with this is that there lossy formats are nto being created and they are not being put in the playlist. Its worked before in JUMPNAKURU ... but i can't get it to work in these. What's up with the site? Can someone help me?

For this example, http://www.archive.org/details/JUMPKIBERA it looks like the newer files went in as "other" filetype, so they are not being recognized to make derivatives from. I think if you edit the item to select the additions as mp3 from the pulldown for each file, and submit that, then derivatives may be subsequently made. (I'm not sure if it will also need a subsequent, separate "derive" choice in the itme manager- it may derive automatically.)

Hi,

You will need to do a rederive after changing the file type.

We only make derivatives automatically when you first create the item. So here's the process:

- check your item out
- upload new files
- check your item in
- go to details page > Edit item
- choose appropriate file format for each new file and submit
- details page > Edit item > Item Manager > hit the derive button

It will take anywhere from one to several hours to rederive the new files, depending on how big they are and how many other items are being derived. Generally, your new derivatives should be available by the next day at the latest.

Thanks,

Alexis
